A unique guided tour of the largest construction site on HS2 Phase One, including a bird’s eye view of the entrance to the Chiltern Tunnels and an opportunity to be driven alongside the UK’s longest railway viaduct currently under construction by the Align JV.

This is a unique guided tour for you and seven of your guests giving you the opportunity to get up close to the construction of what will be the longest viaduct on the UK’s rail network. The scale of construction is enormous and is something to be seen. Stretching for more than two miles across a series of lakes and waterways in the Colne Valley, the viaduct will be the longest railway bridge in the UK. By the time of your visit over a mile of the viaduct will have been built.

You and up to seven of your guests will be able to travel along the purpose-built jetties stretching across the Colne Valley to observe the pier construction and launching girder building the deck of the viaduct, in this unique guided tour. The launching girder is a 160 metre long 700 tonne bridge-building machine and is the only one of its kind in the UK. You can also view the viaduct from a distance from the viewing platform that has been established across the lakes. 

Your tour doesn’t stop there. You will also be able to view the entrance to the HS2 Chiltern tunnels and witness the hive of activity taking place to support the construction of the 10-mile-long tunnels. The tour includes a welcome and introductory session in the ‘state-of-the-art’ visitor centre, so you can get orientated with what is going on before you look around the largest construction site on the HS2 Phase One operated by the Align JV.

The winner and guests (up to 7 so a maximum of 8).
Guests must be 18 years old or older at the time of the visit otherwise they will not be permitted on site. 
The site visit will have security and safety measures in place that all visitors will need to comply with.
The winner and guests will be accompanied whilst on site, they must follow all safety briefings.
If Covid-19 rules and restriction apply at the time of the visit these will be adhered to.
The route of the visit on the day may be determined by the operational work being carried out at the time.
The visit will last half a day.
The date for the visit will be agreed with the site tour team to take place in the first half of 2024.
